Hyper V Download Windows 8
Hyper V is a virtualization technology from Microsoft. It was first released in Windows Server 2008. You can install Hyper V and manage virtual machines in server 2008 and server 2012. With the release of Windows 8 operating system, Microsoft has added Hyper V role as add-on feature in Windows 8. Good news is that, you can easily install Hyper V in Windows 8 and it’s free. Bad news is, the Hyper V can run only on 64-bit Windows 8 Pro and Enterprise editions. With Hyper V role installed on Windows 8 you can easily run multiple operating systems as virtual machine.
Install Hyper V in Windows 8
Before installing Hyper V in Windows 8, let’s have a look at some of the requirements.

These virtual machines, when opened or imported into a compatible virtualization software, can be booted up without any further configuration for instant usage of Windows.
- Operating System must be 64-bit. Can’t run on 32-bit Windows 8 Operating System.
- Supported on Windows 8 Pro and Windows Enterprise editions.
- At least 4GB RAM.
- CPU must support VT (Intel-VT and AMD-V) and SLAT (Second Level Address Translation) technology.
To check the system if it meets the requirement, you can view the system information. Open RUN application by pressing [Windows Key] + [R] on your keyboard. Then type msinfo32 and click OK button.
Now following information is displayed. All the values are Yes. This means you can install Hyper V role in your Windows 8 machine. If you see No in the Value column, then go to BIOS and enable virtualization technology.
Enable Hyper V feature in Windows 8
Open control panel and click program and features icon. The lists in my control panel are set to view by small icons. Now click Turn windows features on or off on the left pane.
Now you will see the following window. From the list of features check Hyper V and click OK button.
After clicking the OK button, windows will install Hyper V role in your Windows 8 client machine and prompt you for restart to finish the installation. After restarting and finishing the installation you can install virtual machines from Hyper V manager console. Although most of the features are same, there are some slight differences between Server Hyper V and Client Hyper V.

When the Settings window appears, you'll see that there are a multitude of settings that you can configure to customize how your virtual machine will work. For the purposes of this article, I'll just cover the basic settings that you need to get started with your Windows XP virtual machine.
Enable Hyper-v Windows 10
Because Windows XP is an old operating system, it isn't compatible with Hyper-V's network adapter. As such, the first thing that you will need to do is add a legacy network adapter. Select the Legacy Network Adapter item, as shown, and click the Add button.
