Dnd Stat Block Maker
Don't spend an hour creating a stat block for a simple bartender in D&D. Here's how to quickly and easily stat D&D 5e NPCs. How to Quickly and Easily Create D&D.
also slightly curious about what people think of the swarm stat block. I think I may be undervaluing him challenge rating wise
edit: just want to note that the undead bird art isn't mine. came up in a Google search, I haven't been able to find the author
edit 2: for anyone who might want to make something like this, here are the instructions and a template:
edit 3: found the author! his name is David Szilagyi and his website is here (Thanks to sherlockhobbes for finding him)
First off grab the template here
That zip contains just about everything you'll need, including fonts and some stain brushes (all freely available online)
Only other thing you need is the stat block maker from here In order to use the stat block maker you gotta download it and grab something that will read html well (personally I used notepad ++) then just hop down to about line 335 and edit away. Once your done save and open it up in chrome and bam! stat block.
Personally I then use the snipping tool (the only that lets you get selective screenshots), zoom to about 175% and screencap the block. Then I just shift it into photoshop, put it in my image as it's own layer, shrink it down to 94% and set the layer type to multiply and done!
I've also added a margins layer, this is to help keep the text uniform across pages as well as make it appear similar to the MM book. The light grey is writing space and the little black border around the light grey is for statblocks (which should fit perfectly)
I wish there was an easier way around the stat blocks part, but this was the best I could find.
Block Maker Minecraft
DnD 5e Homebrew Editor
Have you ever made your own Dungeons and Dragons module? Have you ever wanted it to look freakin’ amazing? Didn’t want to spend hours in Photoshop or InDesign to get it made? Spend your time working on the fun and content rather than the formatting. NaturalCrit has tool called the The Homebrewery made by Scott Tolksdorf (go support him on patreon!). For the technologically savvy, you can pull the project from github and contribute back through code.
Usage
The web tool gives you an intuitive editor with side-by-side views that allow you to make edits and see the result in real time. You can easily drop in monster stat blocks, whip up a new spell, and put your entire module together with complete ease. You’ll want to be on a actual computer to make edits as the editor is less than satisfactory on mobile. However, once you have completed your masterpiece, you can easily print or share with others.
